Zubro is a free, experimental English learning tool built as a competition entry for the Google Gemini Live Agent Challenge 2026. It is not a certified educational service and makes no guarantees about learning outcomes. The service is powered by AI and may sometimes provide inaccurate or inappropriate content, including incorrect grammar corrections or language assessments. The service is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Zubro. By signing in, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
When you use Zubro, we process the following:
Voice and text are sent in real-time to the Google Gemini API for language evaluation, correction, and feedback. This is the core of how Zubro works - there is no way to use the service without this processing.
Learning progress is stored in a database (Google Cloud Firestore, EU region) so Zubro can track your improvement and adapt future exercises to your level.
Operational logs - the service runs on Google Cloud Run, which may record technical logs (request metadata, errors, and diagnostic output). These logs are used solely for debugging and may contain fragments of session data. Logs are retained according to Google Cloud's default retention policy (30 days).
Your data is never sold and is not shared with anyone beyond what is technically necessary to provide the service.
Zubro relies on Google Cloud services to function. Data sent to Google's APIs is subject to:
Google states that data submitted through the Gemini API is not used to train their models. Google may retain API data briefly for abuse monitoring purposes. Zubro's developer has no control over data processing or retention by Google.
Zubro uses a single session cookie to keep you signed in after authentication. This is a strictly necessary cookie required for the service to function. No tracking or analytics cookies are used.
Everything you say or type during sessions is processed by AI systems on external servers. Zubro is not a confidential service. Do not share personal, financial, medical, or otherwise sensitive information during your sessions.
Data already processed by Google's APIs is subject to Google's own retention policies (see links above).
Zubro is developed and operated by Tomek Porozynski.
